Brought up in a household where no expense was ever spared on good quality food, I was always spoilt by what my parents put on the table. It was perhaps my cultural heritage being half Japanese and Swiss, and the opportunity of having lived in various countries that allowed me to appreciate a wide range of cuisine and food from an early age. I had always appreciated good food and subsequently wine, but never knew the world of fine dining that existed out there.
It was in October 2009 when a friend convinced me to go to the Fat Duck for my partner’s birthday and I must admit I had a moment of hesitation but decided to bite the bullet. Having overcome the herculanean task of getting a table there, I returned from the meal a different person and food took on a new meaning for me. The theatre, service, food and experience – it was all beyond my wildest imagination. This was the start of a culinary adventure that continues today.
I plan on visiting as many restaurants across the world to discover what else these talented chefs have to offer. The adventure so far has been amazing and this website is my way of sharing my personal experience with everyone. I hope you enjoy it.
